A lighter, sparkling variation of the classic Negroni, combining Campari and sweet red vermouth with sparkling wine for a bittersweet and refreshing aperitivo.
Negroni Sbagliato was invented in 1972 by Mirko Stocchetto at Bar Basso in Milan. According to the famous origin story, Stocchetto accidentally reached for sparkling wine instead of gin while preparing a Negroni, creating a lighter and sparkling variation. The Italian word 'sbagliato' means 'mistaken' or 'wrong'.
