Paper Plane
A modern classic cocktail balancing bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonino and fresh lemon juice in perfect equal parts. Bright, bittersweet and exceptionally well balanced.

Preparation
- 1Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
- 2Add the bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonino and fresh lemon juice.
- 3Shake vigorously until thoroughly chilled.
- 4Double strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- 5Optionally garnish with a lemon twist or a small folded paper plane.
Historical Background
The Paper Plane was created in 2007 by Australian bartender Sam Ross while working at The Violet Hour in Chicago. Named after M.I.A.'s hit song 'Paper Planes', the cocktail quickly became a modern classic thanks to its perfectly balanced equal-parts recipe. It is now recognized as an official International Bartenders Association (IBA) cocktail and is served in cocktail bars around the world.
