A classic Cuban rum cocktail combining white Bacardí rum, fresh lime juice and grenadine for a bright, tart and lightly sweet drink with a distinctive pink color.
The Bacardí Cocktail originated in Cuba around 1917 and became especially popular in the United States after Prohibition. It evolved from the Daiquiri, with grenadine providing the characteristic pink color and sweetness. In 1936, a New York court ruled that a drink sold as a Bacardí Cocktail had to contain Bacardí rum.
