A rich and velvety classic flip combining brandy, tawny port and egg yolk, finished with freshly grated nutmeg.
Porto Flip belongs to the historic family of flip cocktails. The drink was first recorded in written form by Jerry Thomas in 1862 in The Bartender's Guide, where a similar preparation appeared under the name Coffee Cocktail because of its coffee-like appearance. Its exact place and creator of origin are unknown. The modern Porto Flip is recognized by the International Bartenders Association.
